What’s it like working at Macfarlane Generators?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the friendly colleagues and supportive team culture at Macfarlane Generators, with approachable management maintaining an open door policy. The relaxed work environment, flexible working conditions including RDO arrangements, and learning opportunities with industrial equipment are valued. Company benefits such as company cars are also provided.

However, there are some potential challenges, including workshop facilities that can feel cramped with limited parking during busy periods, a learning curve when adapting to new technology systems and technical equipment, and long travel distances to customer sites for field service roles. I would recommend working at Macfarlane Generators Brendale, could be rated 5 stars if we worked at a larger and newer location.
The good thingsCurrently in Brendale there is a great team and we all work well together. People in key roles provide an efficient yet stress free working environment.
The challengesThe workshop/ building is too small for the amount of work coming through. The driveway is overcrowded during peak times. There is time wasted moving equipment and products around to access other areas within the warehouse and workshop.

Clayton South VIC 31693 to 4 years in the role, former employee
I regret not communicating my challenges effectively and leaving for the wrong reasons.
The good thingsNew experience as an electrician, like doing a second apprenticeship. A door opening learning environment. Working on big industrial equipment was rewarding. The flexible RDO conditions were a game changer for my life style. Good staff and comradely. Company car. No forced vacations/ leave schedules.
The challengesNot much overtime. Long drives to customers didn’t suit me. A better site/workshop balance would be preferable.
