What’s it like working at KPMG?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees value the excellent learning and development opportunities at KPMG, with exposure to diverse clients and complex work that supports continuous professional growth. The collaborative and supportive team culture is frequently praised, with colleagues who are friendly, professional, and willing to mentor junior staff. Flexible working arrangements, including work-from-home options, and the CBD office location with good amenities are also appreciated.

However, there are some potential challenges, including work/life balance concerns due to long hours and demanding workloads, particularly during peak periods. Some employees have noted that management and leadership can be inconsistent, with unclear expectations and a disconnect between senior management and day-to-day operations. Additionally, compensation may be lower compared to market rates, and career progression transparency could be improved, with some concerns about the performance review process and the siloed organisational structure.

Great learning opportunities and strong professional growth in a collaborative environment.
The good thingsI enjoyed my time at KPMG and valued the opportunity to work with talented professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment. The firm provides excellent learning and development opportunities, exposure to a variety of clients and industries, and encourages continuous professional growth. The team culture was welcoming, and I appreciated the emphasis on quality, integrity, and delivering value to clients.
The challengesContinued focus on career progression transparency and employee wellbeing would enhance the overall employee experience.

If you enjoy a high-pressure, toxic, cold/robotic work environment, this is the place.
The good thingsOffice location and the staff kitchen area.
The challengesThe team and company culture can be more humane and supportive to minimise employee stress and pressure. The use of a timesheet to monitor employee performance, including that of full-time employees, is seen as micromanagement. Fussy about processes and management are behind on access approvals and push the request back to the new starter to seek help from others, which makes it difficult for the new starter to learn during training. The company and the team culture is ' you are just a number'. No room for mistakes, even though they say 'you learn from mistakes', blaming culture and not transparency with information in training to set up for failure.
