What’s it like working at Kitchen Warehouse?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees at Kitchen Warehouse appreciate the supportive team culture, with colleagues working well together and creating an enjoyable working environment. Many value their patient and supportive managers who provide constructive feedback, and enjoy working with a variety of kitchenware and homewares products in what they describe as a fun and exciting industry. The work/life balance is also noted as a positive aspect of employment.

However, there are some potential challenges, including inconsistent management approaches across different stores or departments, with experiences varying from highly supportive to less organised. Employees have raised concerns about manual handling and storage practices, particularly regarding heavy products and high shelving. Some team members feel that training and onboarding could be more comprehensive, and that approval processes can occasionally slow down operations when senior management availability is limited.

    Extremely stressful
The good thingsGreat airy store Nice variety of kitchenware products to sell. Parking out front of store Friendly customers
The challengesSome products are heavy and you need to lift these on your own as its difficult to get help from other team members. Stock are filled high up its unsafe when bringing them down on the ladder to re stock the shelves The store manager and some team leaders treat you like you have never worked before or held any other job. You are often down spoken to on shop floor. The warehouse is cluutered and stocked high. The cleaning roster is unfair at times was placed more than others.

Best retail job I've ever had
The good thingsMy boss is incredible, so patient and always gives constructive feedback in the best way! I feel so lucky to work here. I have never felt so supported by my coworkers and management before. I've only met a few others in higher positions, but they've all been lovely too.
The challengesI think the business could focus on marketing a little differently, as our store suffers low traffic as a result. Most of marketing seems to go to newspapers or emails. Probably some social media promotion would do well.
