What’s it like working at HESTA Super Fund?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the positive culture at HESTA Super Fund, describing it as supportive, collaborative, and purpose-driven. The work/life balance is excellent with a 35-hour work week and flexible arrangements. Many value the caring leadership, particularly inspiring female leaders, and enjoy working with friendly, supportive colleagues. The organisation's purpose motivates employees, and benefits are competitive, including good pay and above-average superannuation.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as varying management approaches across teams and concerns about leadership effectiveness in certain areas. The organisation is growing rapidly, which brings challenges around maintaining culture and adapting to change. Some employees have noted issues with workplace dynamics in specific teams, and career progression opportunities could be clearer. Additionally, systems and digital capabilities could be improved, and some roles experience high workloads.

A workplace with poor leadership, a toxic culture, and little accountability.
The good thingsFree coffee and convenient location.
The challengesI would not recommend working for this company. In my experience, the workplace culture is toxic and driven by poor leadership. Unprofessional and inappropriate behaviour is tolerated, and concerns raised by employees appear to be ignored or minimised rather than addressed. The leadership team failed to create an environment where people feel respected, supported, or psychologically safe. Instead of holding individuals accountable for poor behaviour, it often seemed to be overlooked. A healthy workplace starts with leaders who model integrity, accountability, and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. The lack of meaningful action on workplace issues damaged trust and morale and made it difficult to feel valued or cared for as an employee. If you're considering joining this company, I encourage you to ask detailed questions about its leadership, workplace culture, and how employee concerns are handled before accepting a role.
