Leadership often feels like it's building the plane while asking staff to keep it airborne.
The good thingsThe nursing staff on the floor were exceptional to work with. They created such a welcoming and supportive environment that I genuinely felt valued, respected, and cared for throughout my time with them. The hospital HSRs were exceptional. Their professionalism, teamwork, and support made a genuine difference. Keep up the fantastic work!
The challenges-Low organisational maturity with underdeveloped systems of work -High turnover in Corporate Services requiring deeper root-cause analysis -Low psychological safety, with staff reluctant to raise concerns due to fear of blame -Reactive leadership style rather than proactive direction -Culture of fear undermining trust, engagement, and wellbeing -Inconsistent and ineffective communication across the organisation -Non-clinical staff not consistently valued or empowered to contribute -Gender bias concerns not addressed with sufficient seriousness, creating perceptions of tolerance -Persistent siloed working limiting collaboration and organisational effectiveness -Leadership requires stronger emotional intelligence and empathy -Limited visibility of staff sentiment and organisational morale -Concerns regarding fairness and consistency in dismissal processes -Repeated patterns suggest systemic cultural issues requiring organisation-wide review rather than isolated interpretation

NOT a caring culture of clinicians
The good thingsThe care and compassion of nurses. The work is extremely challenging but also rewarding
The challengesThe Executive lack knowledge of mental health and don’t focus on patient care. There is a focus and growth of non clinical departments whilst clinical positions are slowly eroded and a total disrespect of nurses
