What’s it like working at FORACO?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at FORACO consistently praise their colleagues for being friendly and supportive, creating a positive working environment. The company demonstrates a strong commitment to professional development, with many employees progressing from entry-level positions to senior roles through on-the-job learning and mentoring. Safety is prioritised over production, with a focus on innovation and maintaining high operational standards. Management and leadership in the field are generally supportive, and employees appreciate the variety of work across different projects and locations, particularly in the Pilbara region.

However, there are some potential challenges associated with the nature of drilling work. Employees work remotely in locations away from family for extended periods and face outdoor conditions in varying weather and extreme climates. Some employees have noted that management communication could be improved, with occasional differences between management and operational priorities. Staff turnover in entry-level positions can result in limited experienced support within crews, and the travel schedule of flying the day after finishing and before starting work can impact rest time.

Great company to build a career, strong safety standards, good management, crews and equipment.
The good thingsAcross two terms of employment I spent around 10 years with the company, starting as an offsider and progressing to Senior Driller / supervisor. I appreciated the opportunity to develop my skills and work with experienced crews across a range of projects. Safety was always prioritised over production and Foraco backed that up in the field. There was also a strong focus on exceeding client expectations and maintaining high operational standards resulting in a team that was proud to represent Foraco.
The challengesNo drilling operation is without challenges. Often the work can be demanding with long shifts in remote locations. Foraco has always had a focus on innovation and continuous improvement with systems in place to support safe and efficient operations.
