    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees at First Data appreciate the diverse and inclusive culture, with a welcoming environment for people from different backgrounds. Many reviewers highlight the friendly and supportive colleagues as one of the best aspects of working at the company. First Data also offers good work/life balance with flexible work arrangements, and invests in training and development opportunities for employees, such as sponsoring certifications.

    Existance is pain
The good thingsFirst Data is an excellent place to work for if you are new or returnimg to the workplace. They have a very diverse culture and overtime is always available to those willing to work it.
The challengesSay good bye to you social life. It's not unheard of to go 3-6 months at a time without a weekend off and upper management is constantly fighting fires of their own making rather than driving the company. If you are an experienced worker this place will drain your soul.

First Data (now Fiserv) provided a great amount of experience but ultimately the complete and utter failure of management to have any interest or investment in their employees made for an environment where people felt helpless, unappreciated and ultimatel
The good thingsAs is with most places it's always the people you see and interact with day in and day out.
The challengesLack of staff and arduous position approval process meant that roles were often left unoccupied for 6 months+, this meant that staff at all levels shouldered the unchanged expectations in terms of delivery. Little to no direction or meaningful interest from direct managers or upper management in staff or their development, it was always a case of any form of development was purely up to the individual.

I very much enjoyed my time at First Data, however, I think if I went back to work there now, I wouldn't enjoy working there due to a lack of confidence in the current management team.
The good thingsDuring my time at First Data, I was blessed to have a great line manager and an equally competent executive management team above my direct manager. However, since I left the company, my manager was made redundant and I hear from old colleagues that morale has plummeted and everyone is very unhappy with the workplace changes that the new management team are implementing.
The challengesThe Australian business doesn't have much autonomy to make day to day decisions, and so the business is always being held back by a lack of empowered management. There is also a culture of penny pinching and frugality that seems to be excessive and it's always justified by comments about maximising profits for the ultimate benefit of the company's share price. As a result, many systems are antiquated and are expensive to maintain due to their age and end of life support availability.

Overall good environment and career development bt lower range pay and little benefits.
The good thingsThe people are very diverse I woukd recommend this company to people from different backgrounds as the environment is very welcoming to all races/sexes/orientations.
The challengesThere are cliques and if you are not part of the clique then you may find yourself working harder than others for the same or lower pay there is also dead weight.

I started working there in its hey day, Happy staff, christmas parties, bonuses... By the time i left everyone is just getting by, no Christmas party, no benefits.
The good thingsThe staff are friendly
The challengesSalary is terrible. Staff are overworked. The company is struggling financially and so when people leave they aren't replaced. Many people are given work to do for positions above their pay grade and never actually get promoted

Enjoyable but frustrating at the same time!
The good thingsThe people and work culture were good in my experience.
The challengesBeing part of a multi-national US giant means you don't have much influence or effect on anything - even if your group does really well, if the US have a bad year bonus and salary increases are poor to nothing. Not a pay for performance system.
