What’s it like working at EML Group?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the supportive colleagues at EML Group, with many forming lasting relationships with team members. The flexible working arrangements, including work from home options and adjustable hours, are valued, along with professional trainers and a convenient office location with good transport access.

However, there are some potential challenges, including demanding workloads with caseloads often requiring overtime to manage, management approaches that focus heavily on KPIs, and a workplace culture that some find challenging. Additionally, opportunities for career advancement may be limited, remuneration is perceived as below market rate, and wellbeing support could be enhanced for staff in demanding roles.

    Turned sour real quick
    The good thingsSome flexibility available
The challengesHigh turn over, often people just leave. Poor training. Ridiculous work loads. Gossip. Cliques. Blaming past staff for current problems without any self reflection. Seemingly no idea as to what a genuinely accountable and supportive work environment should look like, disappointing given the purpose of the company, lots of fluff no substance.

DON’T WORK AT EML if you care about your mental health, helping people or making a difference.
The good thingsA few colleagues who helped make this hell-hole slightly more bearable until I could get a decent job elsewhere.
The challengesThis job is NOT about helping injured workers get their lives back. It’s about being pressured by managers to hit unrealistic targets which have nothing to do with helping injured workers. Ridiculous workloads. Micromanagement from team leaders. Thinking for yourself is not permitted. Highly stressful role dealing with a large portfolio of injured workers who often have complex, high needs (and hate EML almost as much as some of its own employees). Processes that prevent case managers from helping injured workers’ recovery. Inexperienced colleagues and team leaders. You have to be a yes-man to survive. Be prepared to do things to injured workers that you’d wouldn’t be prepared do to anyone you cared about. Calling out poor behaviour makes you a target amongst managers. High staff turnover. Limited opportunities for growth and promotion (unless you’re a yes-man). Toxic workplace culture. Zero job satisfaction. If you want to make a positive difference, EML is not the place for you.
