What’s it like working at Direct Chemist Outlet?
AI summary of recent reviews
Employees consistently praise their colleagues, describing them as supportive and creating a family-like atmosphere. They enjoy building relationships with customers and appreciate the pharmacy knowledge gained through their work, along with staff discounts on products. The experience varies by store, with some locations offering excellent team environments.
However, there are some potential challenges, including concerns about management communication and support, particularly around addressing staff concerns. Employees note that high workload and being understaffed during busy periods can be demanding. Some feel there is limited recognition for hard work, and head office expectations can be challenging with tight timeframes.

Do not work at DCO Strathpine. No growth, no respect, no trust. Extremely poor management
The good thingsNo good things to say at all.
The challengesThe store is extremely toxic with their friend groups pre-made so when you do something wrong they all turn against you. The store environment was extremely poor with minimal communication and recognition for hard work. Ended up quitting due to continuous stress caused by staff who knew what they were doing and continued. Overall, don’t work at DCO. You will set yourself up for a stuck in the mud, no growth job. Would also like to mention don’t even bring up any concerns you have to people as everyone will find out and not improve their ways.

Don’t apply for any DCO jobs
The good thingsStaff, the other hard working staff members and customers
The challenges no leadership, no communication, owners stopping management from their role, no appreciation of hard working staff, low pay and no overtime.

New learning opportunities but not worth it
The good thingsI enjoyed learning new things about medicines and pharmacy products, building relationships with my co workers.
The challengesDespite the small store it was extremely busy, high workload and stress
Customers are also really demanding and rude at times.
Expected to do 3 things at once and short staffed during busy periods, but taking the blame for things when they are not right. Worked for in pharmacy for years and qualified, never again.
