What’s it like working at Cox Architecture?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Cox Architecture offers several positive aspects, including a workplace culture characterised by friendly, professional staff and a strong sense of community. The company is known for its high-quality projects and excellent design standards, providing interesting and diverse work opportunities. Employees appreciate the beautiful office spaces in good locations, and some note positive experiences with flexible work arrangements, particularly during Covid.

However, there are some areas for improvement, including concerns about leadership and communication styles across different levels of management. The high workload expectations and tight deadlines can lead to extensive overtime requirements, while some employees note limited mentorship opportunities and career progression support. The environment can be highly competitive rather than collaborative, with significant pressure to perform.

Stay for exp and registration. Leave for high pay and ladder to climb.
The good thingsThe pay is decent, chill environment if you keep your head low, office is decent but quiet old.
The challengesAll managements speak with you person when it get serious so nothing is recorded for legal purposes. Most are seniors in the company for 10-20yrs, the other half are 2-3 years grads. Some leads shouldnt be leads with 20years of unrelated experiences. Your "pay raise" is basically inflation.

Avoid at all costs if you are dedicated, loyal and after long term employment; unless... you feel up against a comforting culture.
The good thingsSome flexibility & a good pay to start with. Make sure you ask during the interview as you will be reminded each year that due the "current economic climate" employees cannot get a pay increase. Polite and nice bunch of people who love parties on the house - alcohol is the prime entertainment.
The challengesMore responsibilities as more and more positions "are no longer required". People & Culture doesn't get too involved even with a formal complaint - some people are protected (and NOT because of their outstanding performance). Open and extremely load office space.
