It's alright if you're a metric chaser and dont mind getting stat tracked for every little thingThe good thingsYou meet a lot of good people along the way, talking to all the different departments in the store. It creates a nice environment between the staff
The challengesHaving managers micro-manage every aspect of your shift, ensuring it meets all of their metrics. Each shift I had to ensure my scan rate and bulk rate were above average; otherwise, at the end of the week, I would have to have a chat with the store manager. If these stats didn't improve in a week, you were punished, as they'd take away your shifts and leave you with one 3-hour shift until you improved, which is quite hard to do on 1 shift a week.
There was also no room for growth within my store. After being at my store for nearly 2 years, I asked to change departments multiple times and was denied every time. And if you were looking for a supervisor role, good luck. Although new hires were performing worse than me, they got offered supervisor after being there for 4 months.
Also, the union never did anything even though numerous complaints were made over the time of my employment, and not a single thing was done about any of it.
