CHEMISTWORKS WAS FOUNDED BY JOHN AND LYN BRONGER OVER 30 YEARS AGO AND NOW PROUDLY RUNS THE FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS WITH THEIR DAUGHTER, CATHERINE, AND BUSINESS PARTNERS. John has been President of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and was recognised with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his contribution to the pharmaceutical industry. Both John and Lyn have developed a culture across Chemistworks where the importance to be competitive and to provide value for money is essential, but never more crucial than providing true healthcare. Catherine has won Young Pharmacist of the Year and is a talented Business Manager and Pharmacist, who has instrumentally taken the business to the forefront of innovation within the industry. As a co-owner, Catherine works closely with all levels of the business to build on a pharmacy that strives to address unique patient needs. All staff at Chemistworks, both in management positions and front of shop, work collaboratively to deliver quality service with first-hand knowledge supported by ongoing training. Chemistworks will continue to deliver a professional service that focuses on optimal patient care. Source: This is an extract from the company's own website.

Procedures, communication and training need improvement!
The good thingsMost of the staff were friendly.
The challengesTraining deadlines need to be adhered to! If changes are required, they should be discussed in person prior & kept solely between the employee & not other staff members. Supervisors need to perform more consistently with training for new staff & allocate regular shifts to ensure new tasks can be practised regularly to set new staff member up for success, not failure. Regular group messaging outside works hours regarding non-urgent issues with an expectation to reply quickly, despite new legislation with the 'Right To Switch Off' law. There is no "buddy" system to learn from a more experienced colleague to build confidence, just a "here's a quick demo, best of luck remembering first go". There is encouragement to ask for help if you don't understand something, however if you need to ask for help because you are struggling & provide honest feedback on how you can improve at a task with their help, it may result in instant dismissal. Completely unneccessary for easily resolvable issues.
