What’s it like working at CASPA?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees value the supportive and approachable management at CASPA, along with extensive training opportunities and a diverse, inclusive team culture. Staff find the work meaningful and rewarding, with good work/life balance, flexible rosters, and competitive pay and benefits including above-award wages and gym memberships.

However, working with traumatised young people can be emotionally demanding and requires strong self-care practices. Some employees have noted inconsistencies in management practices and communication in certain locations, whilst high staff turnover and the challenges of being a growing organisation can occasionally impact workload and processes.

There are organisations that actually bring a smile to your face and it isn't this place.
The good thingsThe pay, that's it.
The challengesPoor management from the top down created a culture where rules were applied inconsistently, proper processes were ignored, and favouritism appeared to outweigh fairness. From the outset, I felt treated with suspicion rather than being supported as an employee. The lack of leadership and accountability had a significant impact on staff wellbeing. Concerns were often dismissed, leaving employees feeling undervalued, unsupported, and fearful of speaking up. Morale suffered, mental health declined, and staff turnover reflected these issues. Most concerning was the impact on the children. Inconsistent practices and poor decision-making made it difficult for vulnerable young people to receive the stability and support they deserved. Meaningful change in leadership is essential if both staff and children are to have better outcomes.

Management lacks the skills and knowledge needed to run the workplace effectively
The good thingsI enjoyed working with a few team members and my pay was usually correct without any discrepancies
The challengesThe current management is failing. This place needs a complete overhaul If you’re not friends with management, you’re treated like an outsider. Leadership opportunities aren’t offered fairly and concerns or disclosures are often swept under the rug Conflicts of interest are not addressed as several members of management are close friends and some are even in personal relationships
