Great drivers, but poor senior management made it a workplace to avoid.
The good thingsThe other drivers provided a fantastic support network and were always willing to help. The work itself was enjoyable, and the 24-hour unloading and reloading facilities gave you the flexibility to plan your day and manage your time extremely well.
The challengesIn my experience, senior management at the Burton yard provided very little support, while middle management did the best they could with the resources available to them. I went on WorkCover following an issue involving the yard which, to my knowledge, still hasn’t been rectified. I worked extremely hard throughout my recovery to return to work, only to be dismissed upon my return before I had even started my first shift.
