Hired with heaps of industry experience, poorly trained and self taught on a lot of the system. Fired instantly after a screaming rant from franchisee, because I wasn’t squeezing the customers for money enough. Good riddance.
The good thingsSome of the people there are pretty good. There seem to be higher management, head office types that want what is best for the company
The challengesWorking for a franchisee. Expected to compromise on values, hit an extraordinary dollar per car total $700+ inc gst. Obviously it works out cheaper to hire foreign workers on Visas too. Every thing is about saving money and the customer is never considered. Training is hopeless also.

Automasters (especially geebung) will always put making a quick dollar before you, before the customer, before anyone else the main priority. You will be forced to do stupid amounts of overtime for no extra pay whatsoever. This place has wasted nearly 3 years of my life and I do not recommend even batting an eye to this place.
The good thingsThe only good things about working for automasters is the variety of cars and work you do. The bonus system can be good. It depends on making an unreasonable amount of money that the boss chooses and changes whenever he wants and also gets divied out depending on "how much you contribute" which he determines.
The challengesThe challenges are dealing with the fact that the turnover rate is so high you may as well not bother remembering peoples names, the owners of these shops are so thirsty for money that they will more then happily suck the life out of you and they love bringing up the fact that they pay you such a good salary only to realise that once you add in having to work 8am to 5pm mon - friday and then every second saturday with no paid over time and still only get paid the 38 hours a week. On top of forcing you to do stupid amounts of overtime. Trust me. you could be earning more for people who will actually value you.
