Meaningful client work, but not a workplace I'd recommend overall. The good thingsI enjoyed supporting people from diverse backgrounds and helping participants work towards their employment goals. The role built strong skills in communication, rapport-building, problem-solving, and caseload management, and I valued working with clients who genuinely appreciated the support.
The challengesWorkplace culture was a major challenge during my time there. Some behaviours and comments toward clients and staff felt disrespectful and unprofessional at times, and I didn’t always feel the culture was fair or inclusive for all employees.
I feel there could be better consistency in how staff are supported, trained and managed. Clearer communication about changes, more transparent decision-making, and more consistent processes for expectations, support, and discipline would help create a fairer workplace culture. A stronger focus on respectful team culture, consistency and fairness across staff experiences would also be beneficial.
