Toxic culture & top-heavy management
The good thingsOffice amenities & decent coffee machine
The challengesTop-heavy management with noticeable ego at senior levels. Communication from leadership can feel condescending and there’s a tendency for staff to be spoken about rather than supported directly. Clear favouritism from management impacts resourcing which was also disorganised at times.
There’s a strong internal hierarchy between studios with Sydney clearly positioned as the dominant office. This creates an environment where other studios can feel undervalued and there’s an unspoken pressure to align with or appease Sydney leadership.
Workloads are high and long hours are the norm, but recognition & appreciation is limited. There is little regard for staff wellbeing when it comes to late nights, unreasonable workloads and tight deadlines, including lack of basic support like transport unless pre-approved. Wellbeing initiatives feel superficial at best i.e posting an ‘R U OK?’ sign doesn’t compensate for a lack of genuine support.
