Fabricator/Welder

About the role

Aircomp Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our team in Emu Plains, NSW.

Aircomp Pty Ltd is a respected operator in the Trucking sector, specializing in installing blowers to prime mover trucks, As a Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality fabricated and welded components that meet our stringent standards and customer specifications. This role is integral to our production success and requires a skilled tradesperson who can work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Can execute fabrication and welding projects

• Operate welding equipment using various processes, including MIG, TIG and stick welding techniques

• Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding and shaping steel and other metals

• Assemble and fabricate steel components

• Inspect finished welds and fabricated products to ensure they meet quality standards and safety requirements

• Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working order and report any maintenance issues

• Follow all health and safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

• Work collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines

• Document work completed and maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent on projects

What we're looking for

• Current welding certification or qualification (Australian standard or equivalent)

• Proven experience in fabrication and welding in an industrial environment

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and precision

• Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards and regulations

• Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively

• Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including standing, lifting and working in various positions

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

• Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude towards continuous improvement
