Secondary Maths Teacher - Gisborne
$63-$112k + insurance & PD (NZD)
I’m working with a well-established, independent secondary school in Gisborne looking for an experienced Maths teacher to join their team.
This is an opportunity to work in a smaller, structured learning environment where relationships are important, teachers are well supported, and technology is genuinely embedded into the way students learn.
What the Role Looks Like
You’ll teach Mathematics across Years 9–13, with a mix of face-to-face and online teaching as part of an established, technology-enabled learning model.
You’ll be based onsite at the school, working alongside your colleagues and supporting students through both in-person and online lessons.
Technology is an important part of how learning is delivered, so this role will suit someone who is digitally confident, adaptable, and comfortable engaging students in an online classroom as well as face-to-face.
It’s a great opportunity if you enjoy trying different approaches to teaching while still having the structure, relationships, and connection of being part of a school each day.
Could This Be You?
We’re looking for an experienced NZ teacher who brings strong Maths knowledge, but just as importantly, is adaptable and willing to embrace a modern approach to teaching.
You’ll ideally have:
What You Can Look Forward To
If you’ve been considering a move away from one of the bigger centres, Gisborne could offer the balance you’re looking for.
You can build your career in a supportive school environment while enjoying everything the region is known for — coast, community and a more relaxed way of life.
This could be particularly appealing if you’re looking for something different from a traditional large secondary school, without giving up the professional support and resources around you.
Interested in Exploring It?
You don’t need to be actively job hunting to have a conversation.
If you’re an experienced Maths teacher with NZ and NCEA experience and this has caught your attention, apply today or reach out to Cam for a confidential chat. I’d be happy to tell you more about the school, how the online teaching model works, and what they’re looking for.
