PRINCIPAL HYDROGEOLOGIST

About the role

We are looking for an experienced technically focused Hydrogeologist with preferred relevant experience in such areas as mine water management and/or the renewables sector to join our growing Hydrogeology team. The role will require you to be a technically competent and proactive contributing member of our dynamic groundwater team. In addition, we are seeking someone who is eager to engage with the other Vysarn subsidiaries to maximise potential opportunities and realise synergies across our working groups to deliver bespoke end-to-end solutions for our client's water challenges. This is a Perth based position that may require occasional travel to sites potentially both state and inter-state.

Key responsibilities

• Mine dewatering and closure

• Water resource management

• Managed Aquifer Recharge / Surplus water management

• Renewables (hydrogeological assessments, site selection suitability assessments etc)

• Water quality and groundwater contamination assessment

• Eco-hydrological assessments

• Provide technical leadership on projects

• Engage with other Vysarn subsidiaries to expand and enhance service lines

About you

• A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Hydrogeology / Water Resources)

• 12-15+ years' experience in water resources work, with at least 5 years' experience in project management

• An interest in building on existing business development skills as part of a broader growing business

• Ability to actively engage in business development to identify, follow up and realise working opportunities

• Interest in (and capability to) mentor junior team members

• The ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team across diverse projects and tasks

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Experience in managing and delivering projects on time, on budget and to a high level of technical quality

• Experience in working with clients across all multiple sectors, commodities and government agencies
