Disability Support Worker - High Intensity
About the role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will support NDIS participants with their daily living, personal care, community participation and individual goals. You may work with clients with physical disabilities, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, mental health-related disabilities and other complex support needs.
Key responsibilities
Providing personal care and daily living support
Supporting clients with mobility, transfers and manual handling
Using hoists and other mobility equipment
Supporting clients who use manual or electronic wheelchairs
Supporting clients with community access and social activities
Transporting and accompanying clients to GP, allied health and other appointments
Assisting with household tasks and daily routines
Following individual care plans and support instructions
Completing clear and accurate progress notes and documentation
Communicating with ENs, RNs, CNCs and other members of the care team
About you
Minimum 1 year of disability support experience
Current NSW Driver Licence with realiable car (Mandatory)
Ability and confidence to drive clients when required
Relevant disability/community services qualification, such as Certificate III in Individual Support or higher
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current Working With Children Check (WWCC), where required
First Aid and CPR certification
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
