About us:

The Nelson Hotel is an independently owned & operated family friendly pub. The Nelson consist of a Public bar with its iconic Island bar boasting 18 different selections of beer a wide variety of wines and spirits, Saloon bar, Bistro with kids area, Beer garden, gaming room and balcony bar / function space on Level One. We have currently been approved by council and waiting approval from OLGA to extend the premise and we will start building next year. This will be an exciting time for the pub for the foreseeable future and a chance for a manager get onboard and help us through what should be the start of building a bigger and better venue.

The Nelson prides ourselves on our standard in the hospitably industry. We provide great customer service where our locals and first time patrons feel at home and keep coming back. We host many social events throughout the year, ranging from Golf Days (twice a year), fish trips, pub classics like pool comps and darts comps and the biggest NRL tipping comp in the east with 150 entrants.

We have been finalists for many AHA awards including best draught beer and best metro local and are looking to win this year!

About the Bistro 

The bistro is a busy casual dining experience that seats 80 people (with growth of up to 150 in the new building works) on a mix of private and communal tables, with an open wood fire on display and kids play area. From Thursday to Sunday we reach capacity.

Patrons will order at the bistro counter, receive a buzzer and come back when their food is ready. They can eat their food anywhere in the pub.

Our Head Chef has been with us for over 10 years and makes all the food from scratch with no short cuts, which is why our bistro is so busy and also why we won Best Steak in NSW from the Australian Hotels Association.

About the Role.

We are seeking a hands on Duty Manger with attention to detail to assist with the running of the pub and its day to day duties. They must be a team player and keen to help out in all areas.

Some of the duties include:

· Opening & closing procedures

· Staff training

· Cocktail planning

· Function organising

· Organising members events e.g golf days / fishing trips

Skills & Experience

· RSA & RCG cards.

· Minimum 3 years food & beverage experience

· Great customer service & communication skills

· Excellent leadership & organisation skills

· TAB & Gaming experience

· A genuine passion for the industry.

Above all skills required, the successful candidate will have the right attitude. With this being said we are prepared to train up non experienced managers provided you have minimum 3 years’ experience in food & beverage.

Salary

$75,000.00 for trail period of 6 months after moving up to $80,000.00 + super + bonus.
