Company Accountant
Mazda Australia is seeking a Company Accountant to join our National Finance team. In this key role, you’ll support reporting and forecasting processes, partner across the business, and support strategic financial decision-making. You will also be responsible for leading the Accounts Payable function and team. This is a permanent full-time position, requiring an on-site presence, five days a week, to foster collaboration, strengthen team connections, and ensure seamless support across the business.
Key Responsibilities include:
Lead and support the Accounts Payable team and function
Support month-end close activities and coordinate accurate financial reporting and forecasting processes
Prepare monthly management reporting, including detailed gross profit and balance sheet analysis
Manage annual budgeting and partner with departments to review results against budget and forecast
Support parent company reporting requirements, including actuals, forecasts, and ad hoc analysis
Maintain and support general ledger reconciliations, fixed asset management, and foreign exchange payment processes
Coordinate internal and external audits and act as the key contact for auditors
Lead, mentor, and support direct reports while fostering a collaborative team environment
Drive process improvement initiatives, finance system enhancements, and policy compliance
Provide support across procurement, tax, and compliance activities as required
About You:
You are a proactive and analytical finance professional who enjoys working both strategically and hands-on. You bring strong technical accounting capability, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to build relationships across all levels of the business.
To be successful, you will have:
CA or CPA qualification
A completed Degree qualification in Accounting, Business, or Commerce
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial or chartered accounting environment
Strong knowledge of IFRS/AASB standards
Advanced Excel and ERP system capability (Oracle experience highly regarded)
Experience managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines
A growth mindset, customer-focused approach, and passion for continuous improvement
Previous leadership or mentoring experience will be highly regarded
