BASSCARE Community Centres and Dementia Services are looking for Program Supervisor and Program Assistants to join our warm, vibrant team in Ashburton, Balwyn North and Canterbury.

 

About the Role

This is a hands-on role where no two days look the same. Working alongside our Program Leads, you will be at the heart of our centres, bringing our social support programs to life and creating moments of joy for our clients.

What You’ll Be Doing?

  • Design and deliver creative, engaging programs that bring people together and support the wellbeing of older adults.
  • Foster a warm and inclusive community where clients and carers feel welcomed.
  • Managing the behind the scenes including bookings, activity supplies and daily schedules.
  • Build relationships and connect with clients, carers and community partners to deepen engagement.
  • For Program Supervisors: Support a dedicated team of Program Assistants and volunteers, helping them perform at their best.

 

Wages, Hours of Work and Location

  • For Program Supervisor: $40.49 - $41.66 per hour (as per SCHADS award)
  • Monday and Thursdays, 9am – 4pm in Canterbury

 

  • For Program Assistant: $36.22 - $37.36 per hour (as per SCHADS award)
  • Tuesday, 9am – 4pm in Ashburton, Balwyn North and Canterbury

 

About You

  • A confident communicator and natural organiser with a people-centred mindset.
  • You bring energy, empathy, and creativity to your work.
  • You take initiative and feel comfortable managing competing priorities.
  • You love working as part of a team and enjoy leading others to do their best.

 

Essential

  • Experience in aged care, community services, or a related setting.
  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Leisure & Lifestyle or equivalent.
  • Experience supervising volunteers or supporting community groups.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Police Check
  • Full Driver’s Licence and ability to drive a 12-seater minibus
