Storeperson

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Storeperson to join our established warehouse team at our Parafield Gardens site. This is a hands on role suited to someone who already understands how a busy warehouse operates and can hit the ground running. You'll be repsonsible for receiving, storing and issuing parts, picking orders, managing inventory, preparing export orders and supporting our busy service workshop.

We provide technical engineering services to Australia's heavy vehicle organisations that are associated with mining, quarrying, construction and material handling.
About the role:
This is a varied position within a busy servicing and manufacturing environment. Accuracy, organisation and attention to detail are critical, as you'll be dealing with a wide range of mechanical and engineering components. This is a great opportunity for somebody to set their path for the future within a friendly family run business.
The ideal candidate must be reliable, punctual, have some IT literacy but, above all have a positive attitude. A forklift licence is an advantage but not imperative for the right applicant.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Receipting parts into the warehouse: Unboxing received goods, ensuring the correct quantity and part has been supplied , mark reference number if required and allocate onto the shelf ready for use.
Picking items against a pick slip: Follow a pick slip and allocate all the parts from the system onto a pallet
Issuing parts out of the warehouse: Working with service workshop technicians to book parts out of the warehouse for local service work
Packing export pallets: Follow a packing list and pick and pack the items onto export pallets, prepare marks and numbers, keep pallet building record. Update packing list and send back to export team.
Period stocktake and stock management: Periodically follow system generated stock check requests and ensure stock levels of parts are maintained correctly.
Loading Containers: Loading and unloading 20ft & 40ft shipping containers
Time-management: Adhere to project timelines, deadlines and self-manage.

Skills and experience
To be considered for this position, you will have:
A positive, can-do attitude
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication skills, proficient in written and reading English (language), able to effectively communicate at all levels within the business.
The ability to follow directions from project to project as well as work independently, as required.
Multi-tasking skill and ability to maintain an organized warehouse.
Excellent attention to detail
Other experience and skills that will be desirable:
Strong aptitude to mechanical components
Technical experience within a manufacturing & servicing environment for part identification
