Delivery Manager

Join the Australian Electoral Commission's Chief Information Officer Division and play a key role in delivering election ready IT systems for one of Australia's most important democratic institutions.

About the role
Working within the Platforms and Application Development Branch, you'll support the IT Event Director in managing the day to day delivery of event critical assurance activities across the AEC's enterprise and election systems. This is a hands on delivery role covering integration testing, end to end data flow testing, capacity and load testing, disaster recovery testing, business continuity testing and production verification testing.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage the day to day running of implementation and assurance activities for critical IT events
  • Coordinate resourcing to execute deliverables on time and to scope
  • Provide timely, critical advice during events to support risk mitigation and business continuity
  • Support the ongoing protection of AEC IT systems against internal and external threats
  • Prioritise development effort so resources are allocated efficiently across events and business as usual
  • Contribute to election preparation and delivery activity in line with the AEC's election readiness framework
About you
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing ICT projects to time, cost, quality and scope
  • Demonstrated experience planning and delivering test assurance activities to scheduled timelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and translate technical detail for varied audiences
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across senior and diverse stakeholder groups
  • Ability to manage high volumes of work under competing priorities in a changing environment
  • Comfortable working with limited direction as part of a collaborative team
  • Tertiary qualifications or industry certification in project or program management (desirable)
The details
  • Location: Canberra, ACT (hybrid, National Office based)
  • Hours: up to 40 hours per week
  • Level: Manager, EL1 equivalent
  • Contract: ASAP start (approx. 5 October 2026) through to 30 June 2027, with a 12 month extension option
  • Clearance: candidates must hold or be able to obtain NV1 prior to commencement
