About the Role

As the Database & Reporting Specialist, you will take ownership of the organisation's database and reporting platforms, ensuring a secure, reliable, high-performing and able to scale in line with the business.
You'll work across both strategic and operational activities from modernising platforms and improving performance to managing resilience, capacity, disaster recovery and continuous improvement.
  
Your key tasks:
  • Lead the design and modernisation of secure, reliable and high-performing database and reporting platforms.
  • Shape platform strategy and lifecycle plans, balancing business needs, emerging technology and legacy environments.
  • Own platform resilience and performance, including capacity planning, disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation, finding ways to make services more reliable, efficient and scalable.
  • Lead service delivery and change, working across incidents, projects, releases and technology initiatives with internal teams and external providers.
  • Maintain strong governance and security, ensuring compliance, vendor performance, risk management and technical documentation are well managed.
About You
  • You bring experience in a technical role involving database administration.
  • Strong experience with SQL and Oracle Database. Oracle certifications will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Azure/OCI certifications will be highly regarded.
  • Experience working within an ITIL environment.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, governance and technology risk.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with the confidence to influence stakeholders, take ownership and drive outcomes.
