The role
As the Regulatory Advisor, you will be responsible for leading the assessment of regulatory submissions made by major electricity companies and specified operators of at-risk electric lines and support the consistent, efficient and evidence-based regulatory decisions that contribute to keeping Victoria’s communities safe.
You will provide clear, accurate and practical feedback on stakeholder submissions, including assessing underlying risks, asset management plans, emergency plans and other supporting documentation to ensure high-quality submissions and improved regulatory outcomes. You will also prepare and present documentation, regularly report to senior management, and develop and maintain effective and respectful relationships with regulated entities and internal stakeholders to support the achievement of strategic objectives.
Selection Criteria
Together with your tertiary qualification in law, public policy or equivalent discipline, you will have demonstrated regulatory, policy, compliance or assurance experience gained within government, industry, consulting or an advisory environment and the ability to apply this experience within a regulatory context. You will have proven experience interpreting and assessing complex regulatory submissions and documentation and have a strong understanding of the principles and application of safety management and regulatory frameworks. Your high-level conceptual, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, will be highly valued.
