Senior Fire Safety Engineer

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Fire Safety Engineer to join a growing, high-calibre team in Melbourne. Reporting to the National Manager, this is a senior client-facing role where you will deliver innovative fire safety strategies, support major projects across all sectors, and help shape the growth of the fire engineering division. You will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and ideally some existing client relationships to contribute to the firm’s continued success

DUTIES

• Review project briefs and assess fire safety implications beyond minimum BCA compliance
• Provide fire engineering support during both design and construction phases of projects
• Develop tailored fire engineering strategies balancing performance solutions and deemed-to-satisfy design
• Prepare and deliver Performance Based Design Briefs and Fire Engineering Reports in line with Australian Fire Engineering Guidelines
• Conduct and report on fire, smoke, and evacuation modelling
• Consult with stakeholders, clients, and suppliers to incorporate feedback and inputs
• Perform fire engineering assessments, audits, and design reviews for blue-chip clients
• Develop strategies that reduce essential services maintenance costs across the building life cycle
• Deliver quality services on time, on budget, and to regulatory standards

ABOUT YOU

• Postgraduate / Masters qualifications in Fire Safety Engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Accreditation as a Fire Safety Engineer in Victoria highly regarded
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in fire engineering consultancy
• Strong technical knowledge, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven commercial acumen and ability to build client relationships
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
• Ability to bring existing client connections is highly regarded
