Parts & Accessories Specialist – Motorcycles

About the role

This is a hands-on Parts & Accessories role. You will help customers choose the right products, manage ordering and stock, work with suppliers, maintain strong displays and ensure the department performs commercially. You may already have motorcycle or automotive parts experience. Alternatively, you may come from another technical retail environment, such as automotive accessories, tools, cycling, outdoor equipment or a similar product-based business, and be ready to learn the motorcycle industry. You will own a critical area of the business and will be supported by the wider team.

Key responsibilities

• Serving customers and providing practical Parts & Accessories advice

• Identifying and supplying the correct products for motorcycles and riders

• Preparing quotes and following up customer enquiries and orders

• Ordering, receipting, pricing and controlling stock

• Maintaining accurate product, pricing and customer information

• Managing special orders, backorders and supplier follow-up

• Maintaining well-presented, commercially effective displays

• Working closely with and supporting our workshop and motorcycle sales teams

• Building productive relationships with distributors and suppliers

• Supporting promotions, campaigns and new-product launches

• Managing stock-checking processes

• Monitoring department sales, margins, stock movement and performance

• Helping improve the systems and processes behind the department

There are currently no direct reports in this role. You will own a critical area of the business and will be supported by the wider team.

About you

• Experience in Parts & Accessories, automotive parts, motorcycle retail or another technical product environment

• Strong customer service and sales capability

• Good organisation, follow-through and attention to detail

• Confidence working with stock, suppliers, pricing and product information

• Commercial awareness and willingness to be accountable for results

• Some practical or mechanical understanding, or the interest and ability to develop it

• A genuine interest in motorcycles and the products riders use

• Strong general computer skills and confidence in learning new systems

• Comfort developing enough mechanical and technical understanding to identify products correctly, communicate with customers and work effectively with the workshop

• Comfort working weekends as required for motorcycle retail

Technology

We are investing in better product data, digital retail systems, automation and other IT-assisted tools.

Experience with a range of technologies, software, coding or digital projects is not essential, but it will be highly regarded. We would particularly like to hear from people who:

• Have a strong interest or background in IT

• Use contemporary IT tools effectively in their work or personal projects

• Have experimented with or have a background in coding tools, software development or automation

• Enjoy improving inefficient processes

• Are comfortable learning how systems, product data and integrations work

Parts & Accessories remains the core responsibility. However, this role may include a software development component, depending on the candidate. The successful person may have opportunities to contribute to our digital projects as their knowledge and capability develop.
