The role involves completing 20 mm manifold-to-inline water meter conversions across allocated work areas.
You’ll manage your own schedule, travel between assigned work orders, and be paid on a piece-rate basis.
This is a full-time subcontractor opportunity offering consistent ongoing work for experienced, safety-focused individuals who enjoy working independently.
Previous experience in plumbing, civil construction, utilities, metering, or a similar field is highly preferred. Applicants with strong mechanical aptitude and relevant field experience may also be considered.
About the Role
Working independently, you’ll complete smart water meter replacements across residential properties while maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and customer service.
Your responsibilities will include:
Consistent Ongoing Work
Join a long-term infrastructure project with steady work available across metropolitan Brisbane.
Completed installation
Daily installation numbers will vary depending on experience, site conditions, travel between jobs, accessibility and the complexity of individual work orders. Contractors should expect productivity to increase as they become familiar with the project and installation requirements.
Allocated Work Areas
Work is allocated across defined geographic areas; however, contractors should expect travel between individual residential work orders.
Fortnightly Payments
Reliable fortnightly payment for completed and approved work.
Training & Support
Comprehensive project induction, onboarding and ongoing operational support is provided. Project-specific field training is required before contractors work independently and may take up to one week, depending on competency, experience and project requirements. Please note, this is unpaid.
Applicants should already have previous experience working independently in a trade, utilities, civil, field service or similar environment.
Site Attendance & Documentation
Not every work order will result in a completed installation.
There may be occasions where a contractor is required to attend a property, assess the work, take photographs and provide supporting documentation where an installation cannot proceed.
Any applicable rates for non-completed work orders, additional activities or project-specific tasks will be outlined as part of the project rate schedule and onboarding process.
Equipment
PPE and project safety equipment supplied where applicable.
Contractors are required to provide their own standard hand and power tools and a suitable lockable vehicle.

- Reliable lockable van or ute
- Current Driver’s Licence
- White Card
- Blue Card
- National Police Check issued within the last six months
- Public Liability Insurance – minimum $20 million
- Workers Compensation Insurance or Income Protection, where applicable
- Vehicle Insurance
- Clear photo identification
- Your own standard hand and power tools
