Mechanical / HVAC & Refrigeration Manager

About the role

TR!PL3 Fire Electrical & Refrigeration is looking for an experienced Mechanical / HVAC & Refrigeration Manager to take a key role within their growing team in Alice Springs. This role involves managing the mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration operations across commercial, government, service and project environments. You'll be involved in the full picture — managing projects, leading the team, reviewing designs, pricing works, coordinating procurement, solving technical problems, dealing directly with clients and builders, and seeing projects through from the first conversation to final commissioning and handover. You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, organise your team and take ownership of your projects, while still having the support of the wider TR!PL3 business.

Key responsibilities

• Managing and supporting refrigeration mechanics and apprentices

• Planning labour and coordinating daily, weekly and upcoming works

• Managing commercial HVAC and refrigeration projects from start to finish

• Reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications and equipment selections

• Preparing quotations, estimates, variations and material take-offs

• Coordinating shop drawings, engineering and design changes

• Managing RFIs, technical queries, approvals and variations

• Dealing directly with builders, consultants, engineers, clients and suppliers

• Coordinating equipment and material procurement

• Monitoring project costs, labour and progress

About you

• Refrigeration and Air Conditioning trade qualification

• Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence

• Strong commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience

• Previous management, supervisory or team leadership experience

• Strong refrigeration, electrical and controls fault-finding knowledge

• Experience with VRV/VRF, split, ducted and commercial HVAC systems

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and wiring diagrams

• Experience quoting, estimating and preparing variations

• Experience managing commercial construction or mechanical services projects

• Current Australian driver's licence and Construction White Card
