  • $120,000 - $145,000 + super | Ideally 8–12 years’ experience

  • Melbourne Airport 3rd Runway, Airport Rail, major waste & M&A due diligence

  • Join 2 strong Senior PMs with a 12-person local CLM team behind you

As a Senior Environmental Consultant in Contaminated Land, join a Melbourne team with the slightly enviable problem of winning a tonne of work.

The pipeline includes Melbourne Airport’s 3rd Runway, Airport Rail, waste projects and some substantial due diligence portfolios, including one M&A client requiring assessments across 280 sites.

They don’t need another person simply producing reports. They need an experienced Senior PM who can help turn that workload into well-run projects: steering juniors in the field, reviewing their work, managing reporting and getting quality deliverables up to the Principals for final sign-off.

The Role

You’ll sit alongside two very competent Senior PMs in a local CLM group of 12, giving the team another experienced set of hands between its junior consultants and Principals.

You’ll:

  • Project manage PSI, DSI, RAP, validation, waste classification, landfill monitoring and due diligence work.

  • Deliver major projects across airport, rail, waste and property/M&A portfolios.

  • Guide junior consultants through field programs, reporting and day-to-day project delivery.

  • Review reports and prepare work for Principal sign-off.

  • Manage project programs, clients and technical outcomes.

  • Work on sites where there isn’t always a neat EPA guideline telling you exactly what to do, requiring actual judgement around the best pathway forward.

  • Draw on specialist expertise nationally when projects move beyond standard contaminated land work.

The Team

Locally, you’re joining a 12-person contaminated land group with two established Senior PMs and strong leadership above them.

The wider national business has 160+ people, giving you considerably more technical depth than the Melbourne headcount might suggest. That includes a nationally recognised PFAS specialist whose profile within the scientific community also generates significant project work.

There’s also a local laboratory, giving the consulting team another useful capability close at hand.

It’s a good position for someone who enjoys being technically involved but increasingly gets satisfaction from making projects run properly and helping less experienced consultants become better at what they do.

Experience

  • Ideally around 8–12 years in contaminated land consulting.

  • Strong project management and technical reporting experience.

  • Comfortable guiding junior consultants through fieldwork and reporting.

  • Experience across PSI, DSI, remediation, validation or similar CLM projects.

  • Environmental Science, Engineering or related degree.

$120,000 - $145,000 + super depending on experience.
