About the Client
Our client is developing a major copper and gold mining project in Western Australia’s Paterson Province, focused on responsible resource development, advanced mining practices and long-term regional benefits.
About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Specialist Geologist to support a major project through the planning, execution, and oversight of drilling and geological field programs. In this role, you will provide technical leadership across exploration and resource development activities, contributing to resource growth, resource confidence, and project advancement.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will manage drilling programs, oversee geological data collection and interpretation, support resource evaluation activities, and ensure the safe and efficient delivery of field programs.
Key Responsibilities
Design, plan, and oversee drilling programs to support project objectives
Manage geological data collection, validation, and interpretation activities
Maintain high standards of geological logging, sampling, and QA/QC processes
Support geological interpretation, resource evaluation, and exploration targeting
Coordinate field activities and monitor project performance and schedules
Supervise drilling contractors and technical service providers
Support geological modelling, GIS mapping, and data analysis activities
Lead risk assessments and promote strong safety performance in the field
Support regulatory compliance, reporting, and tenure obligations
Provide technical mentoring and coaching to geologists and field teams
Skills and Experience Required
Degree in Geology, Applied Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline
Experience in exploration, resource development, or mine geology environments
Proven experience planning and managing drilling programs
Strong understanding of geological logging, sampling, and QA/QC practices
Experience with geological databases and data management systems
Experience using geological modelling software such as Leapfrog Geo
Experience using GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Pro
Strong contractor management and field coordination capability
Experience working within safety-focused operational environments
Current Manual Driver's Licence and willingness to undertake field-based work
Eligibility for membership of a recognised professional geological organisation
