What you'll do

As the Principal Project Officer, you will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of statewide mental health, alcohol and other drugs service improvement, workforce capability and service reform initiatives. You will provide strategic advice to support equitable, high-quality and integrated service delivery, develop evidence-informed policies and service models, and drive complex projects from planning through to implementation and evaluation. Working closely with Hospital and Health Services, government agencies, clinicians, consumers, carers and community organisations, you will build strong partnerships, facilitate stakeholder engagement and change management processes, and prepare high-quality briefs, reports and project documentation to support informed decision-making and improved outcomes across Queensland.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the mental health alcohol and other drugs workforce and service system, including contemporary evidence-based models of care, crisis and community-based service delivery, and the complex interrelationships between government, non-government and private sector providers.
• Demonstrated experience in leading, managing and implementing complex system-wide and/or state-wide projects that are time-critical and achieve expected deliverables in a health service delivery context.
• High level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills and capacity to develop reports, discussion papers and submissions.
• High level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and verbal communication skills, including experience in cultivating productive working relationships and partnerships across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
