About Us

Barks and Recreation Dog Daycare provides a high-quality, personalised daycare experience. Our entire team of carers are Fear Free Certified Professionals and the wellbeing of our dogs is at the forefront of everything we do. We operate in accordance with the Victorian Code of Practice for the Operation of Boarding Establishments, maintaining safe and legal staff-to-dog ratios and appropriate group sizes at all times.


About You

You are someone who:

  • Is passionate about a career with dogs, not just finding a job

  • Has previous experience working with groups of dogs (daycare experience highly regarded)

  • Is physically fit and comfortable being on your feet for long shifts (up to 12 hours)

  • Understands that cleaning is a significant part of the role

  • Holds relevant qualifications e.g. Animal Studies, Companion Animals, etc

  • Is available Monday to Friday, and able to work shifts between the hours of 6:30am and 7:00pm

The Role

  • Part-time position

  • Minimum 22 hours per week, with potential for additional hours

  • Pay based on previous experience and qualifications

Shortlisted applicants are required to complete a one-hour, unpaid trial shift.


Responsibilities

  • Actively supervise and enrich groups of dogs of varying sizes, breeds and temperaments

  • Manage dog interactions and behaviours to maintain safety and wellbeing

  • Maintain exceptional hygiene standards through spot cleaning, facility cleaning and end-of-day cleaning duties

  • Monitor and report health and behavioural concerns

  • Greet clients at drop-off and pick-up and provide feedback on their dog's day

  • Create engaging social media content using photos and videos

  • Basic admin tasks such as taking bookings, answering phones, replying to emails
