Amarna Energy is an Engineering Consultancy located in Sydney and Brisbane, QLD. We provide advisory, engineering, and project management services to proponents and developers of renewable energy projects in Australia.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Electrical Engineer at Amarna Energy. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing electrical systems, implementing power distribution and power systems, and ensuring technical and regulatory compliance. You will also be involved in technical and economic assessments, grid connection advice, and high-level systems design and specification. This role is located in Brisbane, QLD, with flexibility for some remote work.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• Electrical Design, Electricity, and Electrical Engineering skills

• Experience in Power Distribution and Power Systems

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Knowledge of technical and regulatory compliance

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Demonstrated Experience in the following areas are desired:

• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)

• AS3000 Australian Wiring Rules

• Design, Installation and Equipment Selection of High Voltage / Medium Voltage Equipment

• Design, Installation and Certification Requirements for Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas and associated standards i.e. AS/NZS/ISO 60079 standards

• Instrumentation and Control in Petrochemical or other Industrial Setting

• Functional Safety and associated standards such as IEC 61508/IEC61511

• BESS and/or other energy storage systems

• Working with Local Australian electrical authorities/operators regarding grid connections and power capacity and power quality constraints

• Light/heavy vehicle battery charging

• Design, Installation and local Australian compliance requirements for power conversion equipment such as transformers, rectifiers, inverters and DC/DC converters
