About Henty Gold Mine

Henty Gold Mine is well-established with high-quality infrastructure, both above and below ground. It is an established underground gold operation supported by a 199koz Ore Reserve and a conventional 300–400ktpa CIL processing plant, targeting ~30,000oz annual production. Ongoing underground development and exploration drilling programs are focused on resource growth, discovery and extending mine life.


About the role

Henty Gold Mine is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Training Superintendent to lead the site's Health, Safety & Training function.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this senior leadership role is responsible for providing governance, assurance and specialist support across health, safety, training, emergency preparedness and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with operational leaders to strengthen safety performance, build workforce capability and foster a practical culture where operational ownership of safe work remains central to everything we do.


Key responsibilities

·          Lead and promote a strong health, safety and training culture across the operation

·          Lead incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives

·          Oversee training, competency management and site induction programs

·          Coordinate emergency preparedness, first aid systems and emergency response capability

·          Coach and support operational leaders in risk management and safe work practices

·          Monitor and report leading and lagging safety performance indicators

·          Coordinate audits, inspections and critical control verification activities

·          Maintain effective relationships with regulators, emergency services and external training providers

·          Lead and develop the Health, Safety & Training team while building organisational capability


About you

·          Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline (or equivalent demonstrated capability)

·          Training and Assessment qualification

·          Significant health and safety leadership experience within underground mining, resources or another high-risk industrial environment

·          Strong understanding of mining health and safety legislation and compliance requirements

·          Experience managing incident investigations, risk management and safety assurance systems

·          Demonstrated experience leading training, competency and emergency preparedness programs

·          Authentic leadership style with excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills

·          Current Australian Driver's Licence

·          ICAM Lead Investigator and emergency management qualifications will be highly regarded
