About This Role
If you are looking for a traditional CAD or design role, this isn't it. Instead, we are looking for a hands on, commercially minded Mechanical Engineer to focus on product optimisation, global supplier liaison, and technical troubleshooting.
In this role, you will make a real impact by collaborating with our internal repairs team, procurement, and our global manufacturing network to enhance and innovate our extensive range of new and existing products.
What You'll Do
Founded in 2001 with just one retail store, our business now spans across all states in Australia and New Zealand with over 115 retail stores, ensuring customer satisfaction and reliable products for all consumers in AU & NZ.
Joining our team means becoming part of a well established company known for its reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. We offer a competitive salary package and the opportunity to grow within the organisation, with potential for career development at our Riverwood Head Office.
You'll be supported by a collaborative team environment, where ongoing training and access to valuable resources are provided to help you thrive. Additionally, we offer on site parking and a weekly pay schedule for your convenience.

What You'll Do
- Global Manufacturer Liaison: Act as the technical bridge between our business and both local and international manufacturers to optimise product performance and streamline production requirements.
- Product Optimisation (No Design Work): Analyse, evaluate, and improve a wide range of mechanical and electrical tools, focusing on performance and reliability rather than original design.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues alongside our internal repairs team, providing effective, real world solutions.
- Cross Functional Teamwork: Work closely with lead technicians and other stakeholders across Australia to achieve project goals.
- Compliance & Quality: Ensure products comply with regulatory, performance, and quality standards.
- Strategic Sourcing: Partner with the procurement team to source high quality spare parts from our local and international supplier network.
- Warranty Support: Provide technical advice and engineering assessments to the warranties department when assessing claims.
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience as a mechanical engineer, with a background that favors product optimisation, quality, or manufacturing support over pure design.
- Proven experience collaborating with local and overseas manufacturers.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to negotiate and collaborate across internal departments and global suppliers.
