QA Manager – Cert 10 Welding Supervisor

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated QA Manager – Cert 10 Supervisor to join our team. This role is ideal for a qualified welding professional who can provide strong workshop supervision while ensuring welding activities meet required quality, technical, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and support to welders and fabrication personnel.

  • Ensure welding is performed in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

  • Coordinate welder qualifications and maintain relevant welding documentation and records.

  • Monitor welding quality and workmanship throughout fabrication and production.

  • Assist the workshop Cert 10 with visual inspections and coordinate NDT requirements where applicable.

  • Preparation and maintenance of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality records, MDR documentation and traceability records.

  • Identify, document and coordinate the resolution of non-conformances.

  • Liaise with clients, inspectors, engineers and third-party inspection authorities as required.

  • Ensure welding consumables, materials and equipment are appropriately controlled.

  • Support continuous improvement of welding and quality processes.

  • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with company WHS requirements and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Certificate 10 – Welding Supervisor qualification or equivalent recognised welding supervision qualification.

  • Trade qualification in Boilermaking, Welding or Fabrication and or experience with Engineering in energy/mining sector in a QA role.

  • Demonstrated experience in a QA role.

  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedures and fabrication requirements.

  • Sound understanding of relevant ASME and Australian Standards and welding quality requirements.

  • Experience with WPS/PQR documentation and welder qualification records.

  • Experience with quality documentation, inspections, ITPs, NCRs and traceability.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.

  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
