About the role

Working closely with the fractional CFO, you will own the group's core financial processes and turn a growing, increasingly complex business into clean, reliable numbers.

Key responsibilities

  • Run month-end close across the group's entities: reconciliations, journals, accruals and intercompany balances

  • Prepare monthly management reporting: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, KPIs and variance commentary

  • Oversee accounts payable, payment runs, bank reconciliations and financial controls

  • Assist with GST, FBT and income tax compliance, and year-end workpapers with external advisers

  • Maintain intercompany accounting and support group consolidation

  • Improve finance processes, controls and reporting templates as the business grows, and support accounts and admin staff day to day

About you

  • At least 4 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, in practice, commercial roles or both

  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand financial reporting, GST, payroll obligations and tax compliance

  • Confident Xero user (essential) with strong Excel skills

  • Experience with multi-entity structures and consolidations, highly valued

  • Clear communication with non-financial managers, and accuracy under deadline
