About the role

This is a permanent position based in Rosedale, Auckland, with hybrid or office-based working arrangements and possible project assignments or travel to Rotorua.

The role guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week and pays NZD 34-38 per hour, depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project budgets, cost plans and cash-flow forecasts.

• Assist with tendering, procurement and contractor comparisons.

• Administer construction contracts and maintain accurate commercial records.

• Assess progress claims, variations and project costs.

Because the role supports a client team in China, regular evening availability is required approximately three days per week, generally until 6:00 pm Beijing time (10:00 pm NZST or 11:00 pm NZDT). Depending on project needs, this may involve adjusted start and finish times or additional hours. All working arrangements and compensation for additional hours, including additional pay or time off in lieu where agreed, will be documented in the employment agreement and managed in accordance with New Zealand employment law.

About you

You will have:

• A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a closely related discipline.

• At least one year of quantity surveying experience in New Zealand.

• Practical knowledge of construction contract administration.

• Strong numerical, analytical, reporting and document-management skills.

• The legal right to work in New Zealand at the time of application.

• Availability for the required evening schedule approximately three days per week.
