Disability Support Worker

About the role

This is a dedicated 1:1 support role providing continuous 24-hour support, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to a participant living independently in their own home in the Umina Beach area. This position focuses on supporting one participant in their own home and requires staff who can work collaboratively within a small, stable team to ensure consistency of care and support. The role is critical to maintaining the participant's safety, wellbeing and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

  • Work a rotating roster of day and overnight shifts

  • Prompted personal care support

  • Medication administration (blister packs)

  • Domestic assistance and shopping support

  • Meal preparation

  • Daily documentation and report writing

  • Maintaining communication records and house diary

  • Transport to medical and allied health appointments

  • Supporting social and community participation

  • Recording financial transactions in participant ledger

About you

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check

  • Current First Aid Certificate

  • Current Driver Licence

  • Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance

  • Current COVID-19 vaccinations as required

  • Current Influenza vaccination (within the last 12 months)

  • Satisfactory reference checks

  • Exceptional reliability, punctuality and attendance

  • Ability to build positive and meaningful relationships with the participant while maintaining professional boundaries

  • Commitment to following established support plans and care plans
