About the Role
As a Perioperative Registered Nurse, you will be an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality patient care across the perioperative journey.
Depending on your experience and skills, you may work across:
Pre-Admissions and Admissions
Scrub/Scout Nursing
Anaesthetic Nursing
Recovery (PACU)
Other perioperative duties as required
You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and fellow healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective and patient-focused care.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care in accordance with professional standards and best practice
Support patients throughout their surgical journey
Participate in patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
Monitor patient wellbeing and respond appropriately to clinical changes
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records
Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities
Promote infection prevention and control practices
Contribute to a safe and positive workplace culture
Support and mentor less experienced team members where appropriate
Participate in ongoing education, training and professional development
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential Requirements
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Perioperative nursing experience in one or more of the following areas:
Operating Theatre
Scrub/Scout
Anaesthetics
Recovery
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Understanding of:
ANZCA Standards
ACORN Standards
NSQHS Standards
Infection Prevention and Control principles
Personal Attributes
Caring and compassionate approach
Strong communication skills
Ability to organise and prioritise effectively
Attention to detail
Adaptable and flexible
