About the role
As a Transportation Engineer, you’ll work on a broad range of transport engineering projects, with the support of experienced senior engineers when you’re tackling more complex work.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop your technical capability across transport assessments, traffic modelling, swept path analysis, site inspections and transport planning, while gaining greater exposure to clients, councils and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key responsibilities
  • Prepare transportation assessments, technical reports and calculations.
  • Undertake traffic modelling, surveys and swept path analysis.
  • Complete site inspections and review transport layouts.
  • Contribute to integrated transport assessments and master planning.
  • Apply NZ standards, codes and local authority requirements to project work.
  • Liaise with clients, councils and other project stakeholders.
  • Work closely with civil, planning and surveying teams.
  • Deliver projects within agreed timeframes, budgets and quality standards.
What you will need
  • A Civil Engineering, Transport Planning/Engineering or relevant degree or qualification.
  • 2+ years experience in transport or traffic engineering, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • An understanding of NZ transport standards, codes and local authority requirements.
  • Experience with transportation assessments, traffic modelling or land development projects.
  • Exposure to ITAs, and SIDRA would be advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A current NZ Driver Licence.
  • Engineering New Zealand membership, or a genuine commitment to working towards it.
