Wanted: Lovely Speech Pathologist (Part-Time / Full Time)

We're seeking a fabulous new Speechie to join us.

Another one of our lovely senior SPs is heading off on mat leave (during what seems to be an ongoing, clinic wide, baby boom). We'll miss her dearly, but ...when one door closes, another opens... We know this role will suit someone compassionate and experienced, who is looking for their next opportunity in our "Goldilocks" workplace. We're not too big, and we're not too small.

Come and work alongside our OTs and SPs in a collaborative, capable, and down-to-earth team in a permanent ongoing role. Work in clinic, community or school settings or a mix of all three.

About You:

• Experienced paediatric speech pathologist, wanting a flexible, innovative and supportive workplace to expand your career.

  • working with a diverse paediatric caseload (early intervention to adolescent)

  • working in a school based setting and engaging with teaching staff

  • designing and developing assessment and therapy programs

  • comfortable and compassionate with an advisory / parent coaching approach alongside your therapy provision.

• 0.6 - Full Time EFT role (days & hours negotiable) - flexible working hours

• Role based in clinic, schools & community, with WFH / online also available.

Key Duties:

ASSESSMENT & THERAPY

• Work with children and adolescents presenting with a range of speech, language and communication needs.

• Conduct assessments to understand each child’s strengths and needs. 

• Develop and deliver individualised therapy plans to support functional goals across  settings. 

• Provide direct therapy sessions (1:1, pair or group sessions) in our clinics and local community environments. 

• Collaborate closely with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure a  consistent, goal- focused approach. 

• Maintain accurate and professional documentation, including reports for families  and funding bodies. 

BUILD CLIENT, FAMILY & COMMUNITY CAPACITY

• Offer practical strategies and environmental supports to promote participation in  everyday activities.

• Support capacity building through parent coaching, teacher consultation, and  development of workshops and materials.

• Innovate in the development and delivery of different programs

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNING

• Pursue ongoing professional development and reflective practice. 

• Leading, mentoring and contributing to our supervision and peer learning program

Important Criteria:

• A Bachelor of Speech Pathology (or equivalent)

• An understanding of how to meet your own needs within your workplace

• Superb time management skills, attention to detail and excellent communication

• A warm, genuine manner, well developed interpersonal skills, and an ability to foster rapport with a diverse range of clients and staff

• Passion for providing an excellent, evidence based service for clients and their families

• Smart, practical, kind and generally fabulous with a good sense of self outside of your work.

Nice to Have Criteria:

• a good understanding of what aspects of your work “fill your bucket”

• experience in mentoring or supporting staff

• hold a valid driver's licence and easy access to a vehicle / public transport

• experience in both tele-health and in person service delivery
