What this role is all about

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Adelaide office. This is an opportunity to work in a supportive, high-performing environment alongside dynamic professionals, contributing to projects across Defence, Health, Education and Infrastructure.

You’ll be part of a national team operating under our One Lucid ethos, giving you exposure to a broad range of projects and the opportunity to collaborate across offices. This role suits someone who enjoys technical delivery, mentoring others, and contributing to high-quality project outcomes.



How you’ll contribute day-to-day

• Deliver mechanical design, documentation and consulting across a range of projects

• Work closely with clients, engineers and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes

• Support and mentor emerging engineers through coaching and technical guidance

• Undertake calculations, system design and documentation across HVAC and building

services systems

• Apply Australian Standards, NCC and relevant codes across all project work

• Carry out QA reviews of engineering work prior to issue

• Prepare technical specifications, reports and project documentation

• Support project delivery including budgeting, coordination and site inspections

• Engage with clients, contractors and suppliers throughout project lifecycles

• Represent Lucid at meetings and industry events

What sets you up for success

• Has 5+ years’ experience in building services mechanical engineering

• Holds an Australian-recognised Mechanical Engineering or Building Services degree

• Communicates clearly and confidently, both written and verbal

• Brings a strong team mindset and enjoys working collaboratively

• Is detail-focused with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement

• Has experience with QA processes and engineering standards

• Understands NCC/BCA and Australian Standards requirements

• Is working toward or has achieved Chartered status (preferred)

• Has experience with AutoCAD and ideally Revit/BIM workflows

• Experience with hydronic systems and HVAC upgrades is preferable

• Holds Australian Citizenship or permanent working rights
