What’s it like working at Accenture?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees value the training opportunities and learning experiences at Accenture, along with career development and diverse opportunities across multiple sectors. The flexible working hours, competitive benefits, and supportive colleagues are frequently praised. Accenture is particularly well-regarded as a great starting point for graduates to develop their skills.

However, there are some potential challenges, including work/life balance concerns with expectations of long hours and weekend work. Some employees have experienced difficulties with management and leadership support, whilst the workload can be demanding with pressure to maintain chargeability. Additionally, salaries may not always be as competitive as other consulting firms, and the culture can be competitive with internal politics affecting the work environment.

Expected much more from this company, but after 2 years, I've lost my motivation and I'm unhappy.
The good thingsFlexibile hours and work locatons, my team is great and company perks such as discounts from different stores.
The challengesPoor management, low salaries and a poor work-life balance. We can either have very little work and risk being let go or have multiple projects and be expected to work after hours and on weekends. Veyr limited opportunities for pay rises/promotions, business heavily focused on clients and profits but don't care about yourself.

Just awful, every aspect of the organisation from the top down.
The good thingsFacilities in Sydney are reasonable. There's not much else positive i can say about this organisation.
The challengesThe culture is awful, the worst i've been subjected to over a long career. The expectations on staff are unrealistic and rewards, recognition and promotions are given on the basis of words speak louder than actions. Due to unrealistic demands on chargeability it's a dog-eat-dog mentality where everyone is competing for limited booking-hours, and so teamwork and camaraderie are non existent. Never in my career was it as apparent that i'm an insignificant number, not a valued employee.

Do not work for this company.
The good thingsThere is nothing good I can say about this company.
The challengesManagement is poor. No structure. Zero coordination. Underpaid. Workload was unmanageable. Collaborating with people who had no work ethics.

A good company to work for that is clearly focused on delivering for its clients.
The good thingsOpportunities are abundant across many sectors. The people are tremendous and want to deliver capability.
The challengesRequirement to be chargeable or constantly seeking WBS to charge time against for business development activities

The company itself is good for freshers and for those who needs to find a breaking point to change their careers.
The good thingsThe company supports its employees in different ways for them to grow individually and professionally. They promote an environment where everyone can speak up and take advantage of what the company gives which is continuous growth and self-development.
The challengesThere might be times where you work on a project that doesn't provide much opportunity or has bad management. You might also encounter stressful environments depending on the project that you got yourself involved in. Stress can also be unimaginable depending on the people that you are working with.

    - Positive experience overall as I got to meet plenty of genuinely good colleagues - I did like the diversity of the roles I got to do. - I did not like the fact that each role was so different from the next one and wish I could stay in one area to really become good at it. - I did love the fact I can work really flexible hours and it was a really good.
The good thingsGreat place to kick start your career as a uni graduate. It definitely helps with development of soft skills. Very good training programs. Loved the flexible working hours and employee support. really wonderful.
The challenges- Do not expect to become specialised in one area only. - As a consultant you are expected to pick up a task and run with it. - It is hard to find roles in areas that you plan to gain specialty - Do not support remote work due to dependencies on the client's working policies.

    The Accenture Lifestyle
The good thingsIf you ask for more work, your superior will give it to you.
The challengesThe work available at the moment is generally pretty lackluster. The main client is a government cash-cow that nobody wants to be on. Also hard to get promoted if there are no good roles available to justify it. The general experience is sitting charging hours at a client site, doing your 8 hours of client work. On top of that, you are expected to do your Accenture work. Finally, you'll be paid less, have less role options and be offered less benefits than if you worked for the client directly.

    Would not recommend
The good thingsThere are a few good people and can get lucky with a decent project - but comes once every few years if you are lucky.
The challengesNo work life balance. Senior Leadership (MDs) are in a lot of cases clueless and do not not really care about their teams.

The company will always ask for more from you. And don't like hearing 'no'. Their positive balance talk is just words!
The good thingsThe people i work with are, for the most part, friendly and nice people.
The challengesThe leadership are old fashioned and the culture is filled with social clicks formed by leadership creating their own followers. Yet it creates an " in or out" culture. Also if you're not seen to be avtively striving for promotion, then you're deemed lazy. They don't support purple being happy and wanting to settle in a role for a while.
