I’ve been finding a lot of jobs lately that are actually 2 or 3 different jobs crammed into one so the business only has to pay one salary for the work of multiple people. And they know people will apply because people need a job. Those employees will end up burnt out, unhappy & wanting to leave. Why do businesses not treat or pay their employees appropriately to keep people around long term?! It’s baffling!

Honestly, I’m starting to feel like I’m going crazy. I’ve been actively job hunting, applying everywhere, big venues, small businesses, anything in hospitality. Cairns. Over 10 years of experience, I speak three languages, I know how this industry works… and yet, nothing. Not even a reply. Not even a “no”. What’s going on right now? Is anyone actually hiring, or are we all just sending applications into the void?Would genuinely appreciate any insight, advice, or even just to hear pareers.
