I've got 5 years in brand and content marketing, thinking of applying for a SEEK Senior Marketing Associate role in digital media. Never worked in media buying, but I do understand the basics. Has anyone made the jump from brand to performance marketing? How did you position yourself and make your application stronger?

Meta Advertising Specialist
I have done it, but got myself an experienced mentor. It’s very different from branding which is primarily creative. Performance marketing is data science, test and optimise cycle. Very different from branding, learn the fundamentals from a trusted source, try out an entry level position first and see how you like it.

I've made a different kind of change before, not anything like media buying.
There were so many skills from other roles I could just bring with me. Some came up in the interview and then other stuff within weeks on the job. Even finding like things that were being handled elsewhere in the company and I could be all "No, I can do that".
So in case you are, dont be scared of the change!
